Merely pointed out / questioned some inconsistencies.. …+ the author’s (in his own words) persona / traits / composition- as a “malcontent” (crouch / complainer/ moaner) which may have influenced his critique. …+ Why the author failed to mention the sunlight readability feature when he stated he bought it to see the screen ……. He did state, as Slacker noted, he was going to follow-up with a “screen tech” post, ……….**but** somehow that got lost in the shuffle …** despite the prime reason he bought the device **… as his “malcontent” persona took over (the devil made me do it ) and the negativity surfaced. ……………”.. I’m also going to cover the screen tech in a later post because I feel that the device itself deserves its own discussion. ” ..........If his main objective was Mirasol, and not a malcontent's burst of negativity, so why not at least throw-in something positive about the screen just for the heck of it? I also mentioned ….wonder how much of a hand QCOM provided the manufactured in designing the product…. Minimum specs / features / performance levels? … with the author stating… ……....” Qualcomm blocked a number of tablet features on this device , so you would think that it would at least be a good ebook reader, right? Well, no, it’s not.” …+ More questions.. …….+ How does he know QCOM blocked those features, and not the manufacturer? …….+ As Slacker pointed out…. It’s an eReader so why wouldn’t “tablet features” be blocked by whomever? And now, predictably (?), comes the on flow of more following the herd “journalism” ………….” …..the package falls apar t…” I’m not saying the new Kyobo device is good / bad as I have no idea, but agree with Slacker ….That it’s basically a first effort / R&D product… and glad that finally a Mirasol screen is being commercially deployed. It would be better if the device itself was top shelf.....but 1) how often does that happen and 2) especially when Q has to rely on others in their value chain? I also imagine the pressure was escalating to get a Mirasol product on the market after over promising / under delivering .... and I doubt the Q would pull it even with it's apparent short comings. Hopefully the screen tech review will be more positive.
