Personally I would opine that strong math skills are almost never found in people of great empathy. Very different parts of the brain are used, very rare to be good at both. But I do think people who run businesses day to day probably have high empathy, although they may be ruthless, as well.

You can't really manipulate people if you don't know what makes them tick.

My husband has Asperger's Syndrome, very bad at empathy, but he's also very kind, generous, and has a very big heart.

After more than 30 years with an Aspie I can say with first hand knowledge that you can be kind even though you have little empathy, and so I think the two things don't necessarily go together at all.
