A confirmed pervert. How anyone could excuse his behavior, or actually live with him, is beyond me.
He should have to register as a sex offender.

This woman was NASA astronaut Mark Lee's grandmother and didn't know it.

Jae C. Hong/AP Minka Disbrow shows a photo of her, right, and her daughter Ruth Lee taken the day they first reunited in 2006.

Jae C. Hong/AP Minka Disbrow, 100, was raped at age 16. After 77 she met the daughter she gave up at birth and learn about the six grandchildren she didn't know she had.

Minka Disbrow was a 16-year-old dairy maid when she was raped by a South Dakota lakeside at a summer picnic in 1928.

When her belly grew, her family packed her off to a Lutheran home for girls to have the baby. Disbrow got to spend a month with her daughter before the newborn was sent to an Iowa pastor to raise as his own.

For the next 77 years, through adulthood and marriage and more children who never knew they had a sibling, Disbrow never stopped wondering what happened to the secret baby she had named Betty Jane.

For years she wrote letters to the Lutheran home, begging for news of her daughter.

“How is my Betty Jane?” she wrote. “I hope she’s being a good girl.”

She never heard back.

On May 22, 2006, when Disbrow was 94, she silently wished her baby a happy 77th birthday and offered up a wild prayer.

“Lord,” she said, “if you would just let me see Betty Jane, I won’t bother her, I promise. I just want to see her before I die.”

As recounted in an extraordinary story in the Orange County Register, Betty Jane - raised in Iowa as Ruth Lee - was at that moment trying to find her birth mother.

Six weeks after Disbrow’s prayer, she got a phone call from Ruth Lee’s son - her grandson - asking if she wanted to see her long lost daughter, who now lived in Wisconsin.

“My knees buckled,” Disbrow told the newspaper.

Mother and daughter made plans to meet. But first Disbrow had to come clean about the old secret to her family, who knew nothing about the day three men attacked a trio of teenage farm girls by a lake.

But Disbrow’s kids were struck by her evident joy.

“I never heard her so excited,” Disbrow’s 65-year-old daughter, Dianna Huhn, told the Orange County Register.

“From that day on, I have never seen my mom so happy.”

Disbrow learned that her daughter had grown up to marry and have six kids of her own, including NASA astronaut Mark Lee, who went to space four times.

When they finally met, mother and daughter bore a striking resemblance - and even picked out similar spangled V-necked tunics to wear.

“It was like we’d known each other all our lives,” said Ruth Lee.

“It was like we never parted,” said her mom.
