However, I'll refrain and just state that your response to Slacker states your position well. I was expecting more than just getting a CEO who doesn't screw it up and knows how to put together a flashy keynote. Qualcomm has not lived up to my expectations and I see that going well beyond the single position of CEO. It is not that most have not worked hard and put in real solid effort. My evaluation is strictly based upon the achievement of measurable results, especially on the profit and sustainable expansion front. There have been successes and failures and the company is now 3 times it's Nov 2000 size (based upon employee count). Back in 2001, my tally for Qualcomm was that $108 (pre 2004 split price) was the bottom line for the stock no matter how poorly the company performed. That was based upon the minimal piece of the pie that I was expecting them to retain given their 3G royalty and chipset position. I also expected Qualcomm (and 3G) to reach it's pinacle by 2009. Unfortunately, the stock market todate has concured more with my bottom line position than the brilliance of your more forward position . As an investor that should be something worthy of note but as we both know, investing is full of dynamics. Few have been as patient as I. I am very likely one of the few that have yet to sell any of the share stash I accummulated during the pre '99 and post 9/11 doldrums. Other than participating in a Qualcomm DRIP, the last time I purchased any significant amount of Qualcomm stock was around the time of the Broadcom trial in San Diego. They should have won that case. That loss is what really opened my eyes. You once mentioned I was a fool because I studied the past and not the potential of the future. Now you say I'm a fool for not throwing in the towel in the face of contemplating a deteriorating future. You might be right on both counts. However, I'm with Slacker here, as chipset and royalty earnings (The Inheritance) plateau over the coming years, I still see little downside. My Kyobo will arrive soon and I'll take it outside into the cold and check out its stiction. I also look forward to seeing what Elop and the Bellingham crew have up their sleeve. My bet is that's where our A-Team resides. It would be nice to see chapters concluding before the initiation of the next but, these days, that isn't the kind of world within which we reside, is it? At least, I'm honest about it all and I can guarantee you, there is a lot about my stance that you don't know. ps Yes PJ is milking it, but for whom?
