Android has multitude of phone choices for users. Apple has 3. The number of users choosing Android DESTROY the number of idiot morons choosing iJUNK. Now which part of the above did you not understand?

Since Apple has so few phones the cost of setting up manufacturing etc is much less. They sell tens of millions of every design while each of the androids is lucky to sell a million. Gives Apple a distinct advantage in efficiency in several areas, profits, design, supply chain, service, infrastructure (apps) maintenance, OS updates. Means they can spend more time fine tuning the next generation. Its also why a considerable amount of people buy them, its just too much hassle to shop around, particularly in the Android world.
