Technically, of course, he had neither the right to free speech nor the right to bear arms in insurrection against the government. It's not as if the US had its own Constitution before the revolution began. Sheesh.

But I doubt such historical details would interest whomever created that poster.

I'm sure that to him or her, the story goes like this: Washington woke up one morning in 1776, read the Constitution, and said to himself, "Damn! Look at that! Not only do I have the right to free speech, I have the right to bear arms, too. It's all right here in this Constitution thing. I think I'm going to go shoot some Brits, because that's what having the right to bear arms is all about."
