If the choice in the election is between two growers, what good does voting do?

America has been becoming more statist, more regressive, in fits and starts since Wilson. Yeah, Harding and Coolidge were welcome early breaks, but temporary. The drift has been slow, and largely imperceptible to that frog in the pot.

Told what America would be today when I was coming of age, I'd have snickered and dismissed the very idea! Hell, I think I did.

Salvation, if possible, can only come from an abrupt break with old trends. I'm guessing it best happen soon. The indicators do not foster optimism.

My gentle nature precludes using proper descriptive language concerning the likely opposition to Obama or the Democrats in general.
