if it wasn't for the Tea Party, republicans wouldn't have taken back the House in 2010, so dissing them for getting in the way

I'm not dissing the Tea Party, I personally agree with them on most issues. I vasty prefer them over any kind of evangelical. But their style does turn off many of the "hope" for the best independent voters. And they probably did mess up a couple of Senate races in 2010 where republicans could have won in MD, NJ and NV.

Look the average American voter still doesn't get it (the debt bomb) and more importantly they don't want to get it. Instead they want to believe that everything will continue on like it always has. Everyone I work with is a Democrat and they all have advanced degrees. If they don't believe it then the average Joe isn't going to believe either.

But even though the future is going to be bleak it is better to run a "Morning in America" style campaign than a burn the government down style campaign, if your goal is to win. "Nice" wins elections, being alarmist and scary will just drive voters back to Obama.

Anyway no matter who wins; over the next four years the debt game is up, so it really just a choice as to who will manage the end of our failed experiment with socialism better.

My perfect candidate this time around would have be Jon Kyl or someone very similar, but I'm not worried about Mitt Romney not being conservative enough, he will do just fine as it is Congress that will have to make most of the hard decisions. The President just gets to appoint the the regulators at DOJ, EPA, DOE, etc... and I think that a business person like Romney will appoint rational and reasonable government regulators to these positions.

Yes, but it should also be noted that if it wasn't for the Tea Party, the Republicans likely would have picked up two more Senate seats (Delaware and Nevada). Job 1 is getting rid of Obama and taking control of the Senate. The ideologically "pure" candidate is not always the most electable candidate.

And please don't forget..............if it wasn't for the Tea Party, republicans wouldn't have taken back the House in 2010, so dissing them for getting in the way of some agenda rings hollow.
