Who spoke this? They tell us…that the America of the coming years will be a place where -- because of our past excesses -- it will be impossible to dream and make those dreams come true. I don't believe that. And I don't believe you do either. That is why I am seeking the presidency. I cannot and will not stand by and see this great country destroy itself. Our leaders attempt to blame their failures on circumstances beyond their control, on false estimates by unknown, unidentifiable experts who rewrite modern history in an attempt to convince us our high standard of living, the result of thrift and hard work, is somehow selfish extravagance which we must renounce as we join in sharing scarcity. I don't agree that our nation must resign itself to inevitable decline, yielding its proud position to other hands. I am totally unwilling to see this country fail in its obligation to itself and to the other free peoples of the world.”

Nothing wrong with being a Liberal. I've been called that alot since I voted for Kerry and then Obama. I'm a Social Liberal on many issues, including the right for any two adults to marry according to their own wishes without government interference. Ron Paul believes that too, btw. But don't be so sure that Obama agree with you on all Liberal ideals. He's gutting Social Security. He's signed on to the same torture tactics that Bush did. And he's destroyed the Bill of Rights, which was even MORE foundational than the Civil Rights Act. I mean hell, how can you have Civil Rights without adherence to the Bill of Rights? Obama is a Republican in Democrat's clothing. It's what many of you fail to see, because you are so blinded with hatred for the evil GOP. I don't like what the GOP has become either, which is why I have voted against them recently, but that doesn't automatically make me a blind adherent to someone like Obama who is proving to be just as bad as the GOP, but in different ways. This country deserves better than the GOP and Obama.
