USS Kitty Hawk was decommissioned in 2009. We could deploy it if we had to, but I agree it sounds unlikely.

that reads like the total bullpucky that I believe it is. There is no Kitty Hawk in our fleet. The last Kitty Hawk was non-super and non nuclear.

The beginning of that article states:

Reza was pointing out what PressTV, the mouthpiece of the Islamic regime in Iran, was saying. They used that picture. And you're right - it is bullpucky.

Today's short tours are often called deployments as in, he had 9 deployments to Afghanistan.
