Reagan had such a way with words...see below. As for me....All we all REALLY want is ABO.....ANYONE BUT Obama...well, except maybe Ron Paul.....Don't know what I'd do if he were nominated....would NEVER vote for Obama, but could NOT vote for Ron Paul. Personally, I think if we just look at what Romney has done in the last 10 years, that should be OK....With so much negativity going around everywhere, it's hard to know fact from lying fiction....Words are being twisted and misrepresented....

These words from Reagan are as true today as when he delivered this speech:

· The Federalist Papers I'm convinced that today the majority of Americans want what those first Americans wanted: A better life for themselves and their children; a minimum of government authority.

Very simply, they want to be left alone in peace and safety to take care of the family by earning an honest dollar and putting away some savings. This may not sound too exciting, but there is something magnificent about it.

On the farm, on the street corner, in the factory and in the kitchen, millions of us ask nothing more, but certainly nothing less than to live our own lives according to our values — at peace with ourselves, our neighbors and the world.

Ronald Reagan, Nationally televised address, (6 July 1976)

why would republicans support Mitt Romney as their candidate?

My goal is not to defend Romney. My goal is to defeat Obama.
IMO, Gingrich loses to Obama.

Most republicans agree Romneycare was a big mistake, and so he rightly deserves criticism for it. As for the others on that list, I'm pretty sure most of them are fabrications or out-of-context quotes designed to make him look like a liberal.

Good grief. I knew I was very concerned about Romney, and now I know why.

And people say he is the only candidate with a chance to defeat Obama?

I remember well, the media and lots of commentary from the so-called middle, that McCain was the only Republican candidate with a chance to defeat Obama, because he was more "moderate" than the others.

We know how that turned out.

Damn Newt for his foot-in-mouth disease anyway. He had this thing won 2 or 3 weeks ago.
