Comparing a couple HTC phones with similar guts and different operating systems might give one a inkling. Maybe I'll go looking in that direction.


Just anecdotal, but I had a Sprint EVO Shift 4G (Android phone) and now have an HTC Arrive (WP7.5 phone). As far as I can tell, these are fundamentally similar phone (with the exception of the WIMAX on the Shift, which I always disabled anyway). Both have a 1500 mAh battery, but the Arrive has the first gen snapdragon (QSD8250) while the Shift has the 2nd gen MSM7630.

I can say that I'm much happier with the battery life on my Arrive. It's significantly better.
