japan--way off topic

<<<<<<<More on the Xoma/Japan thread :-((

............thanks for the info on the reorgs of the various departments. it sounds like hashimoto is trying to change things--i know that the bureaucrats have concrete feet and are hard to dislodge. but the japanese people are getting fed up and the LDP knows it must act or it will be thrown out on its ear.

...........january starts the big bang and that should increase the pressure on corporations to be more investor friendly. wait till the american and european investment houses start pressuring nomura et al to get the japanese companies to unlock shareholder value--no more sharholder meetings on the same day with yazuka!

.........if hashimoto can deal with the banks properly (he has lots of american bankers there as we speak helping him), reorganize the bureaucracy, and continue to deregulate, we may have a real rally by next summer.

........thanks again for the inside scoop--i find the japanese economic situation fascinating!!!!
