skipper, don't watch things so close. it will just hinder you from your goal.
might I suggest..turn off all tv financial stff, cancel all you investment letters, stop watching cpq by the minute and even quit SI... I remember during the 1990 crash and all the yahoo's predicting dow to 500 and all that bunk..
those that just sit still and did nothing or better yet, bot more are big winners.
........in 20 years I'll take a thank you note for this advice if you want<ggg>

I haven't talked about many of my purchases during this pull back on purpose... I have more captial and making a mistake doesn't really hurt long term.
but, I'm glad I jumped in with both feet on SMOD and KLIC...
klic was actually at 22 and 25 recently and SMOD was down too...
there was no reason..they were just down.

Skipper,
Micron warned this morning that earnings will not be up to snuff. CPQ and Dell are probably eating their lunch. The market is nuts. In spite of what everyone from CPQ has said in public regarding the excellent health and prospects of the company, those selling throw out all of the box builders in one fell swoop. Makes no sense. Have faith.

Hopefully Dell announces excelent earnings next week. In the short term, I believe Dell will determine our short term destiny a heck of a lot more than Micron will. -Keith-

Well you know it's double witching day today and hence the volatility.
It could very well settle down by afternoon or at least by Monday.

>> Now what gives?? DJ and NASDAQ up early

Wierd, isn't it? Tell you what, I hope that DELL doesn't misstep their quarter, even a little bit.... I doubt they will, but stranger things have happened.

I have watched the trading activity of CPQ in real time for more than
five months, my conclusion is that the stock price of CPQ "seemed"
to be artificially controlled. Someone just did not want the stock to
go up. A lot of times, the stock just went up in the early sesion and
down in the last 30 minutes(drop very sharply). Also CPQ can be pushed down for more than one point with just few shares. Just look at yesterday's interactive trading , you will see this happened lot of times !! It is very strange. And also in option expiration date, CPQ
always either goes down or gets stalled, and no exception !!! This is the same for INTEL. So, I would say the stock market is controlled
artificially.
