I would credit one thing only for the resurgence in manufacturing in this country: the destruction of the value of the dollar. I've often said on these threads that the only silver lining I could find of dollar devaluation was the impact to making our goods cheaper to sell overseas.

But here's the real question. Is it sustainable to compete with other countries on the basis of dollar devaluation? I'd say no, because the flip side of the coin can be very painful. Cheaper dollars means significant pain for US citizens when everything becomes more expensive.
