Harriers are incredibly loud too. It takes a lot of horse power to take off vertically. Navy jets get old fast. Landing on carrier decks is brutal on the fuselage.

They tried to capture that in the IMAX theater at Disneyland and they did a pretty good job for those who've experienced it....... but alas, nothing like the real thing.

Another one that can't be captured is the space shuttle taking off and the feeling of the sound wave as it goes through you.
