copeland, there is no doubt you are right. easy govt. backed student loans lets all the colleges and universities jack up tuition and fees every year or more often. a side problem is the easy student loans allow people who would normally not attend college/university to go for degrees that have no merit in the jobs world outside of college/university, and they cannot get a job or a good paying job on the outside. i think the student loans are great for those people who really want to attend college/university, and have a plan for how their degree will help them acquire the skills to get a job either inside or outside the university system.
