Many things going on simultaneously. You have the shorters who are trying to drive the stock down, the daytraders who are in and out, some scared people who are selling off, and some of us who are bargain hunting. The short sellers are selling shares that they don't have (i.e. not in the float) so the amount of shares traded is not constrained by the float. The remedy is to make the shorters come up with REAL SHARES to give to the people that they sold to. They will have to buy these shares from the market if they can't find them elsewhere. To force the shorters to come up with real shares requires that the buyer request his certs, always. David Smith
