like a large ship in the ocean slowly changing course...

The idea that ships turn and change course is a myth. It's a well-known fact that the wheel at every helm is not connected to anything, and the Captain and helmsman simply sit at the helm boozing it up, watching dancing girls and what-not. It's proven that ships simply travel in straight lines, waiting for the world to slowly turn and get out of the way. There are many examples (e.g., Titanic, Exxon Valdez, QE1, QE2, QE3).

In fact, John Lennon is known to have written the famous song "Helm! I need somebody! Helm, not just anybody!" after being moved to tears by a famous ship that rammed into the rock of Gibraltar (HMS Yaymiszd).

I don't thing the government with all it's debt is going to let interest rates rise. Not now or in a few weeks. Do you realize what rising interest rates would do to the debt?
