The difference between the video and reality is significant.

The country has a balance sheet with assets.

The debt must be compared with the alternative of not financing programs; there is an ROI aspect, pay me now or pay me later X100. For example, infrastructure investment. Lack of debt right now, to stimulate, would weaken our nation.

One more thing, the Obama haters never seem to talk about the Bush-Cheney off-budget unfunded invasion of Iraq, including billions that "disappeared," that Obama gets the accounting for. They also don't like to bring up the Medicare prescription drug welfare to pharma, also not budgeted by Bush-Cheney. Did I mention the unfunded "no child left behind" state and local mandates??

have you been following Matt Taibe's exposing of how enterprises like Goldman Sachs rips off the public treasury and gets richer and richer while we America gets poorer??

Obama has not given an indication of any such corrupt, inept rackets that preceded. He has been magnitudes more transparent, held to a much much higher standard than the previous opaque team. Like him or "hate" him, that is the way it is.

This President is a person of few words and more action. Remember the phrase "a dog that barks does not usually bite." Applies to Obama. I trust him to not order a strike on Iran before his election if the time for doing so is not ripe. But it looks like we are getting there since Iran is becoming belligerent with each passing day; threatening to close the Strait of Hormuz, conducting naval exercises, warning US naval carriers to not enter the Straits, sentencing a former US Marine to death etc. etc. That is a good deal of stretch but not enough yet for a "no drama Obama" type of a personality.

Obama Ready to Strike to Stop Iran: Ex-Adviser
By Indira A.R. Lakshmanan - Jan 10, 2012 3:41 AM PT

No one should doubt that President Barack Obama is prepared to use military force to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon if sanctions and diplomacy fail, the president’s former special assistant on Iran said.

Obama has “made it very clear” that he regards a nuclear- armed Iran as so great a threat to international security that “the Iranians should never think that there’s a reluctance to use the force” to stop them, Dennis Ross, who served two years on Obama’s National Security Council and a year as Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s special adviser on Iran, said in an interview yesterday.
