This is the way to go not oil sand or fracking in populated regions. There is more than needed methane hydrates and it is a renewable source,

In northern Siberia methane which is 22 more potent than CO2 in global warming is bubbling ot the surface uncontrolled, same in certain place in N. America and the North Atlantic or Bermuda Triangle

i haven't followed the opening day of the hearings but
can only imagine that there will be many passionate
arguments on both sides - some more passionate and
less reasonable than others.

if the process results in greater precautions against
disaster being taken, then its a good thing. just mho.
