Did they poll people who were on average smarter than a fifth grader?

IMO most of these polls are bs.

I trust my own nearly a century of experience any day. IMO my grandchildren will have a much higher standard of living than me and my peers.

It maybe what the polls show is that in the global economy, we will not be 1000Xs better off than the emerging billions of people but only 100Xs better off. Boo Hoo.

Nice article, I can't find alot to disagree with. I think he succinctly outlines "the facts", which seem to be overlooked by everyone in power, or aspiring to power. The real question though is what to do about our current mess and and he doesn't really give a good prescription.

Has anyone read Steve Keen, the Aussie economist? His basic premise is our current economic models are flawed, and it is just a simple matter of excessive debt, especially personal debt. We have only just begun to pay down our debts and we are now only slightly below the highs of 2008. If he is right we have a long way to go.
