Bush was careless with the budget and the repub congress was useless in reigning in spending.

But to be fair, there were four things that Bush inherited from Clinton that weren't so good. One, the recession of 2000-2001. Two, the fact that the stock market had come crashing back to earth in Clinton's last year. Three, the freshly signed (by Clinton) repeal of Glass-Steagall. And four, the seeds of the 9/11 attack.

<<Can liberals govern without bankrupting a nation?
>Look at what good shape the country was in when Clinton left!

That is because the Republicans were governing Congress for the last 6 years of the Clinton Administration.
There was something called Graham-Rudmann and all new spending programs had to had to be paid for.
The Dot Com bubble also helped.

More than the President it is Congress that controls spending.

Look at what good shape the country was in when Clinton left! In fact they projected no deficit by 2012. Bush inherited a 260 billion surplus and immediately gave that surplus money, plus a few more trillion to his rich friends saying it was their money. He was open about it. Clinton was using the surpluses to pay down the debt. Why didn't Bush do that????????? instead of giving gigantic tax cuts to the rich?

And then he went on to double the deficit from 5 to 10 trillion in 8 years which was really a way of giving mor eof our money to his rich friends.

Those are the facts Bob and you should know that! And you need to face the truth about that for the sake of everyone.

1. Clinton left the country with a surplus and a recession. The surplus was the result of the internet bubble and the recession was the result of the bursting of the internet bubble. Those are the facts that you and the rest of the loony left always ignore.

2. Bush did not double the deficit from 5 to 10 trillion in 8 years. He may have doubled the debt like that - but not the deficit. Such details of terminology are simple examples of those who simply do not know or care about facts.

3. $260 billion surplus - absolute nonsense. There was no fiscal year where the debt decreased. Before I got banned from the protected land of the loony left I pointed that out - to no avail. The myth (lie) of the Clinton surpluses is simple loony left dogma. And koan those are the facts - not loony left mythology. Those facts were very unwelcome in the protected land of the loony left board.

4. Finally, since what happens on a presidents watch is defined as the fault of that president - your loony left friends have beaten that into me - there is no deficit spender and debt builder to compare to the current fool in the White House. And koan, that is a fact.

You are a simple mouth piece of loony left talking points. If someone bothers to study the facts - one would know that the talking points are simple lies. Do you know that? Or - do you simply parrot the party line of lie after lie?
