On Romneys recent "firing comment........

"In fairness, that was probably taken a little out of context," Biden acknowledged. "But what isn't out of context is the basic point he was making. He thinks it's more important for the stockholders, shareholders and the investors, the venture capital guys do well than for the employees to be part of the bargain."

"It's one thing to make a profit," he continued. "It's another thing to maximize your profit to the extent you disregard what happens to the people who work for you."

Republicans believe, Biden said, that if the very wealthy do well, all will do well.

"We had eight years of that. It was a disaster. I think the American people have figured it out. And that's the case Barack and I are going to make to the American people -- without a growing middle class, America's capacity to do everything shrinks," he said.

President Barack Obama is launching a full court press to make it easier for companies to bring jobs back to the U.S., including eliminating certain tax breaks that the administration says gives advantages to companies moving jobs overseas, the White House announced Wednesday. Obama is hosting a group of business leaders including executives from Ford Motor Coand Dupont Co to discuss "insourcing" American jobs. In remarks prepared for delivery to the forum later this morning, Obama will call on other businesses to take this opportunity to bring jobs back. The U.S. economy "has the most productive workers, best universities, and most creative and innovative entrepreneurs in the world," Obama said. The White House also released a report highlighting what it called "an emerging trend" of insourcing. In the past two years, 334,000 manufacturing jobs have been created, the report noted.
