John, I appreciate your response.

The Dell pre-earning run-up is non-existent. My current window on these stocks is 3-5 years to see a decent return. But why not pick up a nice bank stock, a nice pharmaceutical stock, a nice multinational conglomerate this year, maybe a de-facto monopoly here or there.

I realy think this market is becoming very value-oriented. High valuations are like bulls-eyes these days. That's why I like INTC so much. INTC will double before Dell.

Sorry, fellas. I can't help but feel a little responsible for causing Dell not to run up before earnings. My prediction: probably sideways AFTER earnings as well. Reason? I just got into my first strangle position and need a big move in either direction to make $$$. Occasionally, the MM's and fund managers check my Schwab account, see what positions I have then act according against my interests.
