I am surprised the producers continue to sell it at these prices, but apparently they do. So It is more or less supply and demand and a La Nina winter. The seasonal rules seem completely broken this year.

Long term everything points up for natural gas (producers refusing to sell anymore below production cost, ever more changeover from other energy sources, building export channels, and even mumblings about stricter fracking rules), meanwhile $2.50 is beckoning again unless winter decides to show its face in a big way before the spring low point Buy with both fists if it gets anywhere near $2 IMHO.
