My sister works on Wall Street and has old me the same thing about the shorts covering today. I just called her at 12:30 and she said there are 4 or 5 on and above the bid looking for shares.

Good Luck getting any below $1.50 for long.

Ask price is rising as you read this. ($1.29 now)

You're right, the original shorter is sitting right there at the bid. It looks like he will stay there providing a strong support level at 1.25. He is running out of time and I believe he needs many shares (No, I don't know how much and he's not going to let anyone know how much he needs). If nobody sells him the shares then we will be in great shape, he will become desperate.
