The mom is very liberal and a super 10 in the mom department, and so recognized it early on and went the extra mile to make her feel good about herself and loved. She always celebrated her daughters gender orientation. I have known the girl since she was about 10. She was also raised to be an independent thinker and came out at 16. That had to be super tough given so many peoples insensitivity. She is a wonderful girl, brave, fearless and vibrant. She about 20 today and in college. A while after she went to college, she fell in love with this very sweet girl. That girls father is very religious and sort of disowned the girl telling her she had to change, so her grandparents raised her. From what I could see, they did a nice job too. Her dad has this wonderful child and rejects her for his small minded hateful thinking. My mouth is agap. Anyway, my friend paid for her to come up and stay with them for the holidays. She was so grateful my freind said. My friend took a zillion pictures of the two together and shared them with me today. They are so much in love (ah young love-lol) and it was so beautiful to see them holding each other, kissing and hugging, I almost teared up. It was so sweeet and pretty. Like a beautiful sunset or a smiling child or a puppy dog-lol. And then I think of all the hateful people who would deny them that love and castigate them, when we not only should be supporting them, but celebrating their difference. Every one of the Republican nominees is against gay marriage. That is so hateful and ignorant. These are kids for christs sake and need our support. Life is hard enough without thoughtless people making it harder. Reminds me of the hateful segregation days. What more does one really need to know about Republican's to gage their validity, not only as politicans, but just decent human beings??
