Mark, S3 marks an end to a twenty year argument(debate) with an old friend. My friend has always taken the position to buy stocks that insiders are buying, I had argued against that, by saying that buying stocks from only companies with heavy insider buying, would limited my stock selection and that small group had underperformed the fast growth companies, where selling of stock was a major draw for skilled management.

<If S3 management had taken the hit along with its shareholders, sentiment and confidence in the company would be a lot different.>

As a result of what I saw with S3, I will now only invest in fast growing companies where my money and management is tied together and we will sink or swim together.

I would have to say that its not S3 accounting that was there largest mistake but as you pointed out their " failure to taken the hit along with its shareholders, sentiment and confidence in the company would be a lot different."
