For over a decade conservatives have been telling the GOP, we don't like Romney, we will NEVER like Romney, do not try to foist Romney on us.

So they foist Romney on us. If there is a crack up do not blame me. I can't make the GOP listen to its base. I don't know why they hold their base in such contempt.

Bob,

What is most disturbing of all is watching Romney supporters show that they are afraid that he won't be able to stand up to the coming democrat assault.

Best!

i agree with you, bob. newt has come apart at the seams over playback of things he has said and done over the past, say, thirty years. i saw some of the ads ron paul did against newt, and although tough, the things i knew to be true were true in the ads. i don't know what ads romney's pac did of newt in iowa, but from what i understood they were not inaccurate. i supported newt until he started being unable to explain away things on fox as well as cnn, etc. he has made himself unable to be believed by my standards of even a politician.

my guy from the beginning was mitch daniel, but he (or his wife) chose not to run. i still think mitch daniel was the best possibility, but he ain't there. i now agree with jim demint on tv this afternoon. if republicans can win the senate and the house, a republican president will sign the bills congress sends over to him. so romney is my guy, because newt has shown himself to be petulant beyond my tolerance level and now i think he does not want to understand free markets working. cain showed himself to be a 999 one trick pony, but the trick was a good one imo.
