I agree My father saw some terrible things in the Pacific theater during WWII that were similar to this story- though worse. Men at war, regardless of how they are trained, will sometimes do rather horrible things. But since they are trained to kill, it's no surprise that sometimes violence corrupts them a little.. That's the price we pay for having an army- and it's the price they pay for being in it. It isn't "fair" to do this to some men and women, but it's the way things are. Unless it gets institutionalized, it's hard to find someone to blame above the perpetrators- unless you just want to scapegoat someone.
