The government does not know where it is putting our money. I and my neighbors got a mandatory survey form last week from the USDA wanting to know, among other things, if we got any agricultural subsidies, and whether we conducted agricultural operations.

I said. "This is a residential area. Thanks to the US government it's designated as an 'urban growth area' and the EPA won't even let us burn our pine cones. You don't know whether you gave me a subsidy? And you don't know that you have effectively prohibited rural activities in my development? And where is all that CO2 from my pine cones going to go after I load them onto my truck, haul them to a transfer station, have them hauled from there to a plant where they are still going to emit CO2 when they are STILL BURNED?"
