That was really precious! I posted in on my Facebook Wall. I was awestruck by the regal bearing of those old veterans on both sides. What an awful war that was.

Fran, thanks so much for posting that clip on the Civil War Vets...When we compare those pictures and the battle each side went through to ensure that our great and grand country would endure, and then we see some of the people in this country actively trying to destroy our cities and property, it does make me realize all over again, what a debt of gratitude we owe those who went before....

Really neat Fran! Part way through the video I saw an old gentleman wearing a pin on his hat that said GAR, and that reminded me that I had seen that pin before. My ggrandfather and gguncle both fought in the Civil War, and I also remember seeing a GAR badge that was in my Grandmother's possession and I also remember seeing a GAR marker at his grave when I first visited it as a 12 yr old child. Thank you for bringing back such neat memories. I am going to eventually do a search and find out which Post he belonged to and try to put 2 and 2 together. en.wikipedia.org
