Kemble: OH, Chief scribe and Keeper of the Records;
You will find this in the Sept 1996, Dell records, at which time Dell was at $80/sh. before the two subsequent splits (I have removed the names of the people involved to protect the guilty) Dell SI thread

<<< I have not jumped in yet, but I too am thinking that Dell is a good short. I will be watching the stock closely over the coming days. Charts show the stock has gone just about straight up since the middle of July, and has doubled in that time period. With the PC arena attracting more and more heavy hitters /Toshiba/Fujitsu/Hitachi are just the latest), I have to believe the big money has been made in Dell at least in the short term, and that the competition/pricing will only get tougher. Also, Dell has probably
been helped more than other PC manufacturers by the drop in memory prices this year due to their mail order/build to order business model, and I think this advantage will not be as great in coming months. In addition, the stock does tend to fluctuate, with large
rises followed by big hits when fears of a slowdown in PC sales occurs. Since we all know that the percentage rise in PC sales has been slowing year over year, a short in the 85-90 range sounds like a good bet to me.

So to save new Dell bears a lot of work and posting they could merely reprint this any time they want.
Of course the stock has appreciated 350 % in the 13 months since the post was written, but it is still a good story that keeps
geting retold.
