The more I think about it, the more I think these guys should get a ticker tape parade.

Piss on 'em is a pretty reasonable attitude.

The Panetta Outrage is feigned and everyone knows it. He HAS to appear furious.

I think the Allen West commentary was particularly relevant -- presumably, these dead bastards were trying to kill these guys shortly before this happened.

My initial response was, "Well, we don't need another Abu Ghraib and these guys should have known that." But the fact is that having the leadership feed this artificial disgust only makes it worse next time. Had there not been the big uproar over Abu Ghraib, would anyone at all be taking this seriously now?

I hope there will be public support for these Marines. Not that it will do them any good.
