I am reading Krugman's book on the 08 collapse. It is really a lesson plan. But he feels economics is much more complicated than people think and gives examples. He also feels we are still figuring it out.

I like that in an academic. One who knows he doesn't ahve all the answers. Einstein was always arguing with other scientists, but when they showed him he was wrong he just said: "silly me, you are right".

That is the right approach to learning. Everyone has something to teach everyone else and everyone has something to learn.

If someone knows more than I about a subject I shut up and listen.

I ahve spent a lot of time with the Yupick (Eskimo's) and whereas most know little of modern academics, if you are traveling with some and have to crash land in the middle of winter, those guys will save your life.

In their arena they are smart as hell and tough as nails.
