Finally relaxing a bit after a hectic afternoon.. Another fire... Too close for comfort this time but hopefully we dodged another bullet. I think the thing will slide by us to the east a little bit. Winds are dying down and pushing more to the NE plus a little moisture coming in.. Can't believe we are worried about fire here in the middle of January but we are... Second one in about a month.. Got me to thinking now, while relaxing with a whiskey and water, this is a good drill for us here... Not good for the ones caught in it as some were, of course... :( Everybody came together, checking on each other, etc.. Making sure everybody was accounted for, children, elderly, animals, etc. .. I love this place and the people even though one is tested now and then here.. But I don't wish this on anyone.. Not fun to pack up in a hurry even though one has a go-pack ready to go.. Mostly family pics, momentoes, etc as the extras..... Still standing by with my good eye on the fire and my bad eye on the weather.. And looking better out of both.. :) PS: Law enforcement was perfect as they came by checking on everybody but they didn't force anybody out early after one told them they were prepared and ready to go.. Kudos to them but that is the beauty of Nevada.... :)
