>>Datek has been consistently inconsistent.

I've lost some confidence in my ability to move fast enough through Datek. I was caught both short _and_ long yesterday afternoon in positions that I intended to close out, which is a _very_ uncomfortable situation. I was up until midnight and up again at 5AM to watch how Tokyo did.

It was just pure dumb luck that the tech stocks I had shorted dropped and the my longs rallied today. Now I'm thinking twice before I short. Will I be able to cover during the slide and before the rally? It's not going to be nearly as much fun to short YHOO on those sucker rallies if I have to worry about being able to make covering buys when I want.

Well Jack, have you ever tried to use E-Trade?? By the "tone" of your post to me I would say no. I have been "on Datek's *ss" this week as much as anyone. And as my post stated, that you replied to, Datek was more dependable a year ago. IMO it would be a much better to utilize your displeasure with Datek, at Datek, instead of me, for my agree'in that E-Trade is worst.

As I've stated more than once this week, and will state again....

Datek, take half your servers off that 1 fuse that runs your whole operation. Maybe we can consistently access at least one of them then....
