Started reading Benjamin Franklin's biography by Walter Isaacson. I never really thought about it, but Isaacson points out Franklin was very much into the idea of a ruling middle class. That was a novel idea of that day.

He always called himself a printer.

Very germain to todays discussion of income inequality. When I worked on the Alaksan pipeline it was with strong unions and we were always treated fairly. I was always very grateful for those unions. They protected us.

All we got was fair pay and the builders like Flour made billions, so they were fine.
