The "carbon storm" argument I'm not up on enough to comment, but probably think it is based on the work of the anti-global warming science crowd for which their is not enough data yet present to rely on. I think methane is the more prominent danger.

The tar sands folk won't do meaningful research on this although they are starting to realize they better provide something or else the "greens" will win the argument. I posted an article to this effect not too long ago.

I think what you think is patronizing is just the generation gap speaking. When you get to be certain number of years one think's he or she has heard it all before.

The way this works is that the young and the reckless are supposed to tell their elders they've clucked up the planet and that they, the next generation, know best and are going to do better. My hat is off to you. I hope you succeed.

Chuckle re: young and reckless? Surely, those against KXL can hardly be considered the Evil Knievel's of society!
