Did you check the fact? Looks like two in black areas and three in white areas.

Look at the map.

I can confirm that one dealership in Belvedere Il was a third generation store of the highest quality - was unwound.

They were an extremely high quality but refused to print misleading ads,as their competitors had.

Accordingly they were considered "not effective".

Upon being unwound they did have an opportunity to buy into the Aurora market in a mall area and it would have required a 10 million plus investment.

This was contrary to their conservative high quality ways.

They were of the finest quality dealer with generations of repeat business.

Today they survive as a high quality used vehicle dealer - benefitting from their loyal owner base.

It is not uncommon for any manufacturer to epitomize a franchisee for selling so effectively - when in reality it is the more unscrupulous dealer who prints the most outrageous claims and misrepresentations.

Often times, these" heros" are those that also prey on unsophisticated minorities of all colors.

After all who do you think pays for all those ads?

Think about it!

IMHO it is far better to buy local and work a tough deal based on all of the info available over the internet. To pay reasonably more locally is always the smartest buy.

That being said if the local dealer will not get competitive - he needs to go broke.

The franchise sytem works well ,when every one is modern and competitive - not greedy and entitlement based.
