Having it stolen is just one reason. A more important one is that it's boring, pointless and defeatist. I like to invent amazing things. That means investing in them. Investments are risky, but also can be extremely profitable. Another is that gold is not going to be money again [for everyone]. Gold is too long in the tooth. It is obsolete technology.
