adams harkness downgraded nearly all the semis today including AMAT even after their bullish report. Adams report is full of "maybes", nothing solid; the semis started selling, and it has spilled into the dow now. AMAT's report should have given the market a boost. AMAT's ceo stated on CNBC "some analysts get it wrong". these analysts carry too much market sway to generate volume (my opinion)

the downgrade was already in the works, even before the AMAT report. so it didn't matter what AMAT reported, harkness was going to downgrade anyway (another opinion)
