Analysts estimates are always conservative, they leave room for the company to beat them. If bear stearns says 7 cents, that is worse case scenario. The original estimates of 53, that was being conservative. An analyst has to protect his reputation. If Bear Stearns said 50 cents and coms came out with 7 cents. Bear Stearns looks stupid. Now if coms comes out with 20 cents Bear stearns will just say we underestimated the company.

<<modem side will come out ontop>>

Only with steep price cuts...have you seen what the KFlex's are selling for?

Several friends, looking for advice on whether to upgrade their modems
have remarked on the marked difference...I've recommended they just hold out until a standard comes out...that's a few less modems off the shelves :(

Sold at 35 1/8. Had bought in at avg. price 32. Coms may or may/not have stopped its current short term upward move but I don't like the short term risk/reward. More bad news coming. Its only "sort of" in the stock.

Will definitely miss this and next quarter, or they will come down even more, or both, my guess. Longer term, its pretty cheap. Gets compelling in the high 20s/ 30. Or so.

I think they called their conv. debenture cause they don't want the dilution, even though it is fairly small no. of shares. Won't get dilution if stock trades under the conversion price, which management expects, given hard news to come.

Management ie expects more bad short term, much stronger longer term.
