Have to remember those colors are enhanced & filled in , space is a really very dark & cold and alot starker than that ...thats why we huddle in churches and pray there is a loving "___" up there . Beautifu pic ... Its true there's an "abundance" of sorts but again there's the stark reality that those that were fortunate enough to be under the umbrella of this one true "___" ended up pretty much using that as an excuse to take up all the land resources and enslave whomever they could and take all the gold . Not so abundant in Uganda, Somali Liberia & eastern europe & russia , eastern china , india on and on etc . And did so with great showings of benevolent piety & grace while the reality was quite a different order but "they" were the barbarian primitives that needed saving & conquering and brought to the light . They were also great on slaughtering each other by the millions too in non stop infighting wars just as they do now . That picture evokes enough awe not just because it is so unreal for being so vast , cold , beautiful and starkly real but its just that we have these eyes to see it with and what exquisitely reproduced upside down in our brains . And amazing hands & brains to create the tools & learn painstakingly through the centuries little by little by the creators & discoverors of invention to take these pictures now . Brave little upright monkey , give him a lever long enough & a place to stand ;o) (and 1000's of battles, conflicts & skirmishes that made him even more cleverer at creating better weapons & canon , stronger /sharper metals , faster ships & strategy , stouter buildings and impregnable castle walls ...and even a flush toilet for the queen & bishops !)

Was watching a long special on PBS last night on the Black Hills of N & S Dakotas centered around the life & times of Colonel George Custer ....not so abundant for the native american Sioux & Cheyanne etc . Gov't planning again...send in the gold miners and provoke a war did the indians in & the buffaloe hunters and one glory seeking soldier . It was called "progress"....
