I agree, Bill, but there is a lot of exciting news these days that keeps hope in my heart.

The news I speak of is in the Lattice Assisted Nuclear Reaction (LANR) community, formerly known as Low Energy Nuclear Reaction (LENR) and previously as Cold Fusion (CF) [1]. I've followed this story very closely and intently since Pons and Fleischmann had their famous press conference at the University of Utah in 1989.
If these LANR devices, such as e-CAT, are finally coming to production as promised, families would be able to move into the remote wilderness of Canada or perhaps to an unowned tropical island, build homes fully powered by a small LANR device, establish a well-water pump with reverse osmosis filters, and be forever off the power and tax grids. If that day comes, we would be able to tell the government to take its social security scheme and shove it up their asses as we would be able to move away and kiss their oppressive tax-robbery fiat money schemes goodbye forever. One could procure about 25 years worth of supplies and move out into the middle of nowhere and live in peace for a long, long time, without worries of heat, power, and water. We could leave the idiots behind to rule over their subjugated morons in urbania. -nfg-
