Obama carried Virginia last time-----Obama is looking at the number of electoral votes he can take. If he does not carry Virginia that is, as I recall 12 electoral votes, for him in the general election. That means that Obama would have to make up those electoral votes in another state. Obama wants Virginia and North Carolina and is attempting to tie the two states together in his message and campaign. At present--------in terms of the number of delegates to the GOP National Convention I don't know the precise number-----I will look it up. One thing for sure----------whatever is today , changes overnight.
