There are too many idiots who aren't paying attention to it and thus don't understand the issues and too many political interests in maintaining the status quo. Many people simply don't comprehend that LNG/CNG can radically change our energy situation in reasonably short order. It is called "failed leadership", and it is the president's responsibility.
