I regularly check 3 threads, it takes no more time than one long one, and it keeps a continuity of thought when the subjects are grouped. For instance, what does this quoted message have to do with IOM, and what information does it convey?

>>> On Wednesday, I became quite convinced that we were not going to see a share price less
than 30, so in order to delay paying taxes, I covered my position at 2.25 and wrote Feb 35
for 3.25. Not an ideal situation, but I'll have to wait and see.<<<

The day-trader and option player could read both threads and get the same information they do now, and the one seeking just information would not have to wade through all the posts about how to trade options and how many options someone bought or sold.

Sounds like a great idea, and no one misses anything they want!

Gary, about the Other Thread,

There are two conflicting agendas here: (1) promoting Iomega with discussion of news and competition, and (2) day-trading issues for people who actively follow the stock and its options. These two are in conflict because as it is now, the thread is no longer new-user friendly. Prospective new Iomega investors can't possibly filter out all these day-trade messages to get to what they need. I remember coming here a long time ago, when the thread was filled with channel checks and why *I* should invest in Iomega. Now the thread is filled with what happened to the stock within the last 10 minutes.

I think, IMHO, we need to return this thread to the "Long-Term" investors to discuss fundamentals, and create a new thread for day-traders. Other stock groups have successfully created this type of separation, and it's a natural separation. It's to all of our benefit that we maintain two such thread to attract new long-term investors.

> But, if I (and others) do, then we will not check both threads on
> a regular basis as it is too time consuming and will post any news
> on the other thread.

Don't worry, news will have a way to propagate to both thread.

Hi Gary,

I believe that you should respect the wishes of the majority. We should have a vote on " one or two threads". As you mentioned and I agreed 100%, it is too time consuming to check both threads; besides, I bet just in matter of time, the second threads will also have both types of info anyway.

I vote for "ONE THREAD".

I really appreciated your posting.

RE: Volume Updates on Iomega

I find Gary's volume updates very interesting and useful, and feel that the thread will be losing a very valuable resource if they disappear.

Don't feel that you're not welcome here Gary. Even from a long-term investor perspective, your volume updates are more relevant than 75% of the messages on this thread.

The nature of this thread (and any similar thread) is short-term. A long-term investor can get everything he needs from quarterly statements and news releases, without having to wade through tens of thousands of messages here.

Oh Wise one,
Forgive them for they know not what they do.
Come back to the party, post whatever you want, it's a free thread.
Ignore those whiney hineys.

We need intraday volume analysis !!
