There is one book by a Harvard liberal professor that is worth reading. The title is "Bowling Alone" by Dr. Robert Putnam.

Putnam had originally set out to write a book supporting the wonderful joys of diversity and multiculturalism, but what he found shocked him. He discovered that in the face of diversity, people close down and withdraw like turtles into a shell; not just to people who are different from themselves, but to everyone.

Diversity and multiculturalism are the ultimate show stoppers. Both destroy trust, ruin bonding between like-minded people, and kill all sense of belonging. No wonder the government and large corporations love it so much, as it completely kills the community and social cohesion, negating the possibility of rebellion or interference in business. Multiculturalism basically kills the human spirit, turning people into mindless drones who reflect inward from a defensive posture.

To his credit, Putnam published his findings, which were the opposite from what he expected to find, although he tried to put a happy face on the doom in places, with liberal code words like "hope for the future", and so forth.
